Skateboard Shelf

Instead of buying a new set of furniture for your book, your board is a good option as a shelf for your book. In this DYI skateboard idea, both long and small boards are excellent options. Styling the look of the shelf depends on your personal preference. 

What you need

  • Pencil
  • Drill
  • Skateboard
  • Screws
  • L-Brackets
  • Level

How to do it? 

  1. Measure how far apart the L-Brackets when it is hunged. 
  2. Choose a good anchor and put it on the spot where you will screw the L-Bracket in your wall. 
  3. With the use of a level, make sure that L-Brackets are evenly placed. 
  4. After attaching the L-Brackets, place your skateboard above. You can screw the L-Brackets directly to the skateboard or simply put it above, and you’re done. 

Skateboard Swing

As much as kids love skateboarding, kids also love to play with a swing. Why not use your old skateboard to make a DYI swing in your home? 

What do you need? 

  • Used skateboard 
  • High-quality rope 
  • Two metals to screw it close
  • Drill
  • Dowell 

How to do it? 

  1. Remove the wheels and the trucks from the skateboard 
  2. Using the drill, make a hole in the two sides of the skateboard 
  3. Cut the Dowell into two with equal length  and drill on each end of about an inch 
  4. Cut your rope into half and thread it on each side of the skateboard (the one with holes)
  5. Place knots on top of each hole, but it should not be too tight as you need to adjust it later on. 
  6. Attach the Dowell and when done, hang your finished swing on the branch of the tree or to any place you want to hang your swing

Skate Balance Board

Making a balanced skateboard is a cool thing you can try at home. It is an effective tool to promote motor skills among your kids and improve their balance at the same time. 

What do you need? 

  • Blank skateboard 
  • 3” wide PVC pipe 
  • Three bolts with locking knots 
  • Drill
  • Spray paint (optional)

How to do it? 

  1. If you use paint to add art and color to your PVC, then this is the first step you must do. 
  2. Mark two holes on the skateboard on the end part of each center of the board. Drill through your skateboard and attach the bolts securely through the PVC pipe, and it’s all done.

What you need

  • Skateboard
  • Clockworks kit
  • Pencil
  • Hand drill
  • Picture hanging kit 
  • Hammer
  • Ruler
  • Pencil 

What do you need to do? 

  1. Between the wheels, measure and mark the center part of the skateboard. Make a hole with the use of a drill a bit bigger than clockwork shaft 
  2. Follow the instructions of clockworks manufacturer 
  3. Attach picture hooks to the upper parts of the skateboard. Tire and switch between the hooks and mount the finished product on the wall.
