3. The back foot moves forward as it crosses over from foot.

4. Do it again by putting your back foot around your front foot.

5. Allow the back foot to drop on the bolts again then repeat.

6. Level up the style utilizing the edges to carve the board a bit side to side as you.

Ghost Ride

This is an upgraded trick, and it needs more flipping. You’ll start with your back foot stepping off of the board. Then you make the board go forward together with your front foot.

2. Your back foot moves forward, and it crosses over the front foot. It lands on the opposite edge.

Both feet are parallel, and they are fairly centered.

6. You have to make the same step with both your front foot and back foot. You have to repeat it many times as you carve throughout the whole time.

7. To prepare to return to a perfect stance, allow the front foot to be in position first. Then, you can drop your back.

The tricks and skills above can be applied in variations. When doing a ghost ride, you can pop the board up through kicktail. You can catch it with your hand then do flipping and hopping.

Kick tails can also be used in shuvits, spins, and big spins. You don’t have to feel stressed whenever you try the tricks. You have to enjoy it until you get everything right.

The Path to Being an Excellent Longboard Dancer

Once you’ve already mastered the basics, you can step up to another complex yet fascinating tricks. It’s more of learning the style as you’re on your way to an excellent longboard dancer.

1) Pirouette Technique

It requires a regular board ride. You have to pull your hind leg to go to the end of the board. Your foreleg should be placed in the middle.

The ball of your foot should be in the center. You will continuously rotate until you roll back with your shoulders like a spring.

Throwing your shoulders to the motion creates an outstanding revolve around yourself. You need to pull your knees and hips together with this movement.

So you rotate with your forefoot ball in 360 degrees. Then you land on your original position. To bring out the goofy effect, you might want to turn in to the left.

You may fall or stop halfway on your rotation when you practice, so it’s best to be doing it on a grassy or sandy surface. Don’t give up until you achieved the full rotation.

2) Chop the Wood Technique

Learning this trick needs good balance skills. The start is rolling on the longboard with your foot is positioned at almost 90 degrees. This position will help you carve with ease.

Then, you rotate your forefoot on the rail of your heel side as you point it our forward. To have a turn of the heel side, press your foot with its ball on the track. You have to squat on your foreleg.

What you need to do next is to switch the shoulder for a forward step, then you shove your hips. You have to raise your hands at the same time so you would instill the balance. You open your hind leg so you can shove it off the board.

Then, you get back to the normal posture with the carve position of toe ide for the finale of this trick. It makes the foot’s ball press the toe rail as the knees are bent. 

The weight is transferred on the front edge of the board so you can carve forward. It requires good balance skills so you can show a lovely dance and carving motion. It will make you dance beautifully with the board. 

3) Ghost Ride Kick Flip

It begins with a normal position of riding a longboard; then, you jump off the board from the heel going to the forefoot. You step forward, so your rear foot is now in the middle of the board.

You can place your hindfoot on the ground, and the toe is beneath the board. Raise your board using foot top; then, you flip it in 360 degrees around its horizontal axis. 

This foot kick can be done easily by pulling the board together with hip jumping. Your knees should be 90 degrees. After the board goes into a full spin and jumping, both of your feet are on the board. 

You can practice flipping first as you need to integrate it with this trick.

4) The Casanova

This trick is a combination of the basic Cross Step, Peter Pan, and Ghostride Kickflip. You may think it’s so complex as it is a blend of three tricks.

But once you’ve learned those three tricks well, it will be easy for you to perform The Casanova. It starts with the ride in the average pacing. 

Put your feet back as the forefoot is positioned perpendicularly to the rear foot. Cross the back leg over the other and take it to the front. It’s the Cross Step technique.

Then the foreleg should be crossed over the other one as they become parallel to each other. This is what you do in the Peter Pan technique. You go on with crossing your hind leg to the front one.

But don’t put them in a parallel position. Instead, step on the surface or the ground by moving your hind leg across the edge of the board.

For the final step, you put your hindfoot under the longboard. Flip it around 360 degrees and, in one motion, quickly jump up to the board in a single motion.

Protective Gear

Though you master some skills, you sometimes can’t avoid falling. This calls for protective gear, and it’s something that you need to concern about.

You need to get a good helmet, gloves, knee pads, and wrist protectors. The helmet should be the right size for your head. It should have tight straps, proper ventilation, and you can choose the color and design that you like.

It’s also necessary that you have a certificate for cycling or skateboarding. 

Beginners should get knee pads, wrist protectors, and gloves. You may not need to use them when your skill level has gone up. These things may sometimes be entangled as you make your groove.

Aside from protection, you should also dress up and whip a nice hairstyle to enhance attractiveness.
